AGOSTINO RUSSO

Born in 1974 at Piano di Sorrento (Naples – Italy).

After completing his technical and commercial studies he moved to Rome in 1996 where he studied to become a Restorer of paintings on canvases, tables and frescoes.
Since 1998 Agostino worked as Restorer across Italy: Biblioteca Hertziana (Roma), Convento di S. Ignazio Archivio di Stato (Genova), Pompei scavi, Monastero dei Benedettini (Catania), Monastero di S. Chiara (Napoli), Museo S. Martino (Napoli), Museo di Capodimonte (Napoli), Museo Correale (Sorrento), Teatro S. Carlo (Napoli), Palazzo Zevallos Stigliano (Napoli), Basilica S. Pietro Vaticano.
In 2013 Agostino decided to start a new creative journey working simultaneously as a painter and sculptor for both private and institutional clients, nationally and internationally.
In 2016 he has been commissioned for a painting “S. Anne et Marie” currently located in St. Anne d’Auray Cathedral in Bretagne (France).
In 2015 Agostino worked on the decoration of the presbytery of the Sacro Cuore di Gesù Church in La Forma (Roma).
In S. Gerardo Maiella Church in Naples in 2014 he was in charged of painting the Four Evangelists on the pendentives.
In 2019 Agostino worked on the decoration of the vault above the reception room in the medieval Castel Maresca in Serracapriola, Italy.
During these years Agostino has also been comissioned for decorative works in several listed buildings across Rome.
Since 2013 he takes part in several exhibitions around Italy: Genova, Napoli, Anagni, Gavignano (Roma), Cefalù (Palermo), Sorrento, Positano, Roma.
Agostino is dedicated and passionate about his work, he is particularly interested in experimental research and constantly focused in defining his expressive language.
